Auschwitz tours from Cracow are unforgettable and shocking, as they allow us to become more familiar with the details of World War II prisoners' extermination. Our tours from Krakow last one day only, but they allow the participants to feel the true dimensions of this tragedy. German Nazis built the object in Oświęcim (which is a town located less than 70 km from Krakow) first as a labour camp, but soon they started to use it as a mean to kill the prisoners in massive amounts. They managed to murder about 1 100 000 people there, most of them were Jewish (about 90%).

At the beginning, Nazis were exterminating the prisoners through extremely exhausting labour, which was beyond human capacities. What is more, they did not provide the workers with the right amount of food and warm clothes, in order to get rid of them more quickly. Later, they came up with the idea of massive extermination using a poisonous gas. Then, they were able to murder hundreds of people a day. The camp was liberated in 1945 and two years later the Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum was created to honour the victims and show it how much harm hatred and war can cause.
